Understanding MAC Address Limit

MAC address limit allows you to set the maximum number of MAC addresses to be learnt by an interface on a NetEngine 8000 F. When the number of learnt MAC addresses reaches the set maximum number, the interface forwards a subsequent packet if the source MAC address of the packet exists in the MAC table; the interface forwards or discards a subsequent packet if the source MAC address of the packet does not exist in the MAC table based on the action configured in MAC address limit. For example, the packet is discarded by the interface if the action is configured as Discard.
