Configuring Load Balancing Mode

Configuring Per-packet Load Balancing

By default, Huawei NetEngine 8000 F's control and forwarding planes both work in per-flow load balancing mode. You can configure the commands shown in Table 1 to change the mode to per-packet.

load-balance packet { slot slot-id | all }

  • On the forwarding plane, this command takes effect only on MPLS packets on P nodes.
  • On the control plane, this command takes effect on the IP packets and MPLS packets sent by CPU.

Configure the per-packet load balancing mode for packet forwarding.

Inbound LDP/SVC VLL traffic of the interface

Prerequisites: a LDP VLL or an SVC VLL has been configured on the corresponding interface and a tunnel policy has been configured for the L2VPN.

If VLL FRR is enabled on the interface, this command takes effect on both primary and secondary PWs.

By default, Layer 3 Eth-Trunk interfaces perform per-flow load balancing based on IP addresses, and Layer 2 Eth-Trunk interfaces perform per-flow load balancing based on MAC addresses.

Configuring Per-flow Load Balancing

By default, Huawei NetEngine 8000 F's control and forwarding planes both work in per-flow load balancing mode. You can configure the commands shown in Table 2 to change the mode to per-flow if the mode has been changed to per-packet.
