For the routers that support the 1588 ATR server function and comply with the G.8275.2 standard, the network deployment has the following limitations: 1, The uplink and downlink between the server and client are consistent and the path between the server and client must be unique. 2, The intermediate network includes up to 3 hops of microwave devices (4 devices) or three Layer 2 switches. Traversing routers is not supported. 3, PTP packets are exchanged between the server and client. The PTP packets can be Layer 3 IP packets or one-level VLAN labeled packet. The packets cannot carry two-level VLAN labels or MPLS labels. 4, The outbound interface on the server for sending PTP packets must support the 1588 TC mode. 5, Measurement and compensation for static asymmetry of upstream and downstream delay are required for 1588 packets on the primary and secondary devices. 6, When LAG exists on the intermediate network, the fibers of all LAG member links must have the same length. That is, the asymmetry of delay is fixed regardless of changes. 7, PTP packets have the highest priority. The intermediate network identifies the PTP packet priority for scheduling. The requirement for time synchronization performance cannot be met. |
