The automatic measurement of ring network asymmetry has the following limitations: 1, This function applies only to scenarios where fibers on the ring network become faulty and then are restored. In other scenarios such as adding nodes to a ring, manual measurement is required. 2, Only the ring network devices in BC mode support automatic measurement of ring network asymmetry. 3, Time out-of-lock or device reset (such as device power-off or board resetting) is not allowed during ring network measurement of the involved NEs and their upstream NEs. 4, When the alarm about a fiber length change is generated, the associated engineers need to confirm such change and clear the alarm. The operations that may cause clock source switching (such as disabling interfaces or modifying NE configurations) are not allowed before the alarm is cleared. 5, The scenarios where multiple points of failure occur and the backup path is unavailable are out of the scope of the solution. 6, When an alarm about a failure to calculate the fiber length change is generated, the fiber asymmetry needs to be manually measured and restored. The measured fiber asymmetry value must be sent to NEs before the NEs switch to the normal tracing path. 7, Automatic measurement is not supported in scenarios where a fiber fault occurs on the slave or passive interface in the transmit direction and the interface does not go Down and then Up. Use the automatic measurement of ring network asymmetry as instructed. |

The slaveonly function on the OC is mutually exclusive with the static 1588v2 function. Time synchronization is affected. |

When the introduced signals are of the 1PPS type, configure the protocol standard of TOD information to be consistent with the external BITS0, BITS1, or BITS2 clock signal type as required. Otherwise, time synchronization is affected. |

The device supports either PTP (1588v2/G.8275.1) or 1588 ACR. Do not deploy PTP (1588v2/G.8275.1) and 1588 ACR client at the same time. |
