In MPLS-TP OAM auto-sensing mode, if a link fails, modifying an interval at which MPLS-TP OAM packets are sent results in a status negotiation failure after the link recovers, resulting in the abnormal MPLS-TP OAM status. After the link recovers, an alarm indicating an MPLS-TP OAM period inconsistency is generated.

It is recommended that:

1. Do not modify the TP OAM period if a link fails.

2. After the link is restored, run the undo cc send enable command and then the cc send enable command to instruct the peer MEP to re-negotiate with the peer MEP.

EOAM Y.1731 packet loss measurement is configured on PWs, and MPLS-TP OAM packet loss measurement is configured on LSPs. MPLS-TP OAM packet loss measurement results do not contain PW traffic data. MPLS-TP OAM packet loss measurement results are inaccurate.

Do not configure both EOAM and TPOAM to implement PW packet loss measurement.

If PW EOAM and MPLS-TP OAM packet loss measurement functions are configured for the same PW, the later configuration takes effect only.

You are advised to not configure both EOAM and TPOAM to implement PW packet loss measurement.

MPLS-TP OAM single-ended or dual-ended frame loss measurement does not apply to the scenario where the service to be detected has multiple outbound interfaces and the outbound interfaces reside on different boards or chips. Typical scenarios: Public network load balancing or public network Eth-Trunk interfaces are used.

TP-OAM/MPLS-OAM does not support RSVP-TE over GRE.

An NMS cannot simultaneously initiate multiple LB and LT test instances or LB and LT tests in multiple OAM instances.

You are advised to plan the sequence of carrying out LB and LT tests Properly.

MPLS OAM supports the following alarms: LOCV/Excess/MISMATCH/MISMERGE/UNKNOWN/BDI/OAMFAIL/SD/SF/FDI alarm. SD/SF/FDI alarms are generated only when static bidirectional co-routed TE LSPs are established.
