Enabling BGP4+ to Discard New Routes in the Case of a Memory Exception

After BGP4+ is enabled to discard new routes in the case of a memory exception, BGP4+ will discard the new routes received from peers in the case of a memory exception.

Usage Scenario

If BGP4+ keeps accepting new routes when the device memory is abnormal, the device memory may be exhausted. As a result, the involved process or board is reset. To prevent this problem, you can enable BGP4+ to discard new routes in the case of a memory exception.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run bgp memory-usage exception-threshold discard new-route

    BGP4+ is enabled to discard new routes in the case of a memory exception.

  3. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
