Performing an L2TPv3 Tunnel Injection Test

An L2TPv3 tunnel injection test is used to test traffic forwarding in the upstream and downstream directions.

Prerequisites

A working tunnel has been configured.

Procedure

  1. Configure basic L2TPv3 over IPv6 functions (see Configuring Basic L2TPv3 over IPv6 Functions) but do not bind any services to the L2TPv3 tunnel.
  2. Configure the L2TPv3 tunnel as an injection tunnel.
    1. Run interface interface-type interface-number

      The interface view is displayed.

    2. Run l2tpv3 instance instance-name

An L2TPv3 instance is configured on the interface.

    3. Run l2tpv3 static binding pw pwname injected

The L2TPv3 instance is bound to the L2TPv3 tunnel. Meanwhile, the L2TPv3 tunnel is configured as an injection tunnel.

    4. Run commit

      The configuration is committed.

Checking the Configurations

Run the display l2tpv3 pw pwname command to check whether the L2TPv3 tunnel is correctly configured.

Run the display l2tpv3 statistics pw pwname command. The command output shows packet statistics about the L2TPv3 tunnel.
