Maintaining IPv6 PIM includes querying statistics about outbound interfaces in IPv6 PIM SM entries, monitoring the operating status of IPv6 PIM, and debugging IPv6 PIM.
You can determine whether the number of existing outbound interfaces in IPv6 PIM-SM entries exceeds the upper limit by checking statistics about outbound interfaces in IPv6 PIM-SM entries.
If PIM status information in IPv6 PIM routing entries of a downstream interface is unnecessary, delete them from the downstream interface. The deletion does not affect Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) or static group join status information.
You can monitor the IPv6 PIM running status by checking unicast routes, BootStrap routers (BSRs), and Rendezvous Points (RPs) used by IPv6 PIM, statistics about PIM control messages, and information about PIM neighbors and PIM routing tables.
