(Optional) Configuring VSI PW-based Traffic Suppression

You can configure the VSI PW-based traffic suppression of broadcast packets, multicast packets, and unknown unicast packets.

Context

To prevent the network from being overburdened, set a traffic rate limit.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run vsi vsi-name [ static | auto ]

    The VSI view is displayed.

  3. Run pwsignal ldp

    The VSI-LDP view is displayed.

  4. Run vsi-id vsi-id

    The VSI ID is configured.

  5. Run peer peer-address [ negotiation-vc-id vc-id ] pw pw-name

    A PW was created, and the VSI-LDP-PW view is displayed.

  6. (Optional) Run pw pw-name

    The VSI-LDP-PW view is displayed.

    After you create the PW in Step 5, you can run this command to enter the VSI-LDP-PW view in the VSI-LDP view.

  7. Run the following commands as required:

    • Run broadcast-suppression cir cir-value [ cbs cbs-value ]

      The rate of the broadcast packets on the VSI PW is limited.

    • Run multicast-suppression cir cir-value [ cbs cbs-value ]

      The rate of the multicast packets on the VSI PW is limited.

    When the packet rate reaches the CIR, subsequent packets are discarded.

  8. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
