Application Scenarios for MLD
As shown in Figure 1, hosts receive video on demand (VoD) information in multicast mode. Receivers belong to different organizations form leaf network segments. Each leaf network segment contains one or more receivers.
Host A is a receiver of N1; Host C is a receiver of N2. MLDv1 is configured on Port 1 of DeviceA that is directly connected to Host A. MLDv2 is configured on Port 1 of DeviceB and DeviceC that are directly connected to its respective host. That is, MLDv1 runs on N1; MLDv2 runs on N2. The multicast devices on the same network segment must run MLD of the same version.
