Without having to modify network configurations, engineers can obtain the packet headers to be sent to CPUs or forwarded. The obtained packet headers help engineers promptly locate network faults. If network engineers confirm that a device drops protocol packets or has high CPU usage during network maintenance, they can enable the device to obtain packet headers to be sent to its CPU.
If voice or video quality deteriorates during network maintenance, network engineers can also enable a device to obtain the packet headers to be forwarded and determine whether the device has received incorrect packets or discarded packets.
