Description

DLDP/4/DETECTUNIDIRECT(t): OID [oid] The port is detected in Loop status. (IfIndex=[integer], IfName=[STRING])

A loop is detected on an interface due to incorrect fiber connection or a hub fault.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.173.3.3 Warning equipmentAlarm(5)

Parameters

Name Meaning
[oid] Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.
IfIndex Indicates the index of the interface where the loop alarm is generated.
IfName Indicates the name of the interface where the loop alarm is generated.

Impact on the System

Packet forwarding on the interface is affected.

Possible Causes

The signals transmitted from the Tx end of an optical interface are received by the Rx end of the interface due the either of the following reasons:

  • The Tx end and Rx end of the interface is connected on a fiber.
  • A fault occurs on the hub connected to the interface.

Procedure

  1. Run the display dldp command to check the DLDP status on the interface.

    • If the DLDP port state field displays advertisement, the loop has been removed. Go to 4.

    • If the DLDP port state field displays loop, a loop link exists. Go to 2.

  2. Check whether the fibers on the interface are connected correctly or whether the hub connected to the interface is working properly.

    (1) If the fibers are corrected incorrectly or the hub fails, connect the fibers correctly or fix the hub fault, and go to 1.

    (2) If the fibers are connected correctly and the hub connected to the interface is working properly, go to 3.

  3. Contact technical support personnel.
  4. End.
