Possible Causes

A user failed to log in by using HTTP.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the user name and password are correct.

    • If the user name and password are correct, go to Step 2.

    • If the user name or password is incorrect, use the correct user name and password to log in again. If the user successfully logs in, go to Step 4. Otherwise, go to Step 2.

  2. Check whether the HTTP configuration on the server to which the user attempts to log in is correct.

    1. Run the display http server command to check whether HTTP is enabled.

      • If HTTP is enabled, go to Step b.

      • If HTTP is disabled, run the http server enable command to enable HTTP. Then, use the user name and password to log in. If the login succeeds, go to Step 4. Otherwise, go to Step b.
If running the http server enable command fails, run the dir [ /all ] [ filename ] command to check whether an HTTP loading file exists. The default file is web.7z. If the default HTTP loading file does not exist, do as follows to handle the problem:
        • If a non-default HTTP loading file exists, run the http server load file-name command to load the file.

        • If no HTTP loading file exists, upload an HTTP loading file by using FTP.

    2. Run the display current-configuration | include local-user command to check whether the HTTP user name and password exist.

      • If the HTTP user name and password exist, go to Step 3.

      • If the HTTP user name or password does not exist, run the local-user user-name password { irreversible-cipher | cipher } password command to create the user name and password. Run the local-user user-name service-type http command to specify this user as an HTTP user. Then, use the user name and password to log in. If the login succeeds, go to Step 4. Otherwise, go to Step 3.

  3. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  4. End.
