IFPDT/4/INT_INBRDR

Message

IFPDT/4/INT_INBRDR:The input rate change ratio exceeded the threshold. (IfIndex=[ULONG], InterfaceName=[STRING], ThresholdPercent=[ULONG]%, CurrentStatisticalPeriodRate=[STRING], LastStatisticalPeriodRate=[STRING])

Description

The sudden traffic volume change percentage in the inbound direction of an interface exceeded the trap threshold.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

IfIndex

Interface index.

InterfaceName

Interface name.

ThresholdPercent

Detection threshold of sudden traffic volume changes.

CurrentStatisticalPeriodRate

Interface rate in the current traffic statistics collection interval.

LastStatisticalPeriodRate

Interface rate in the previous traffic statistics collection interval.

Possible Causes

A loop occurred on the Layer 2 network.

Procedure

  1. Check whether a loop occurred on the Layer 2 network. For details, see the "Troubleshooting: Layer 2 Loop" in the Huawei S Series Campus Switches Troubleshooting Guide.

    • If a loop occurred, go to 2.
    • If no loop occurred, go to 3.

  2. Eliminate loops.

Loops seriously affect the network performance and even cause service exceptions, so loops need to be eliminated immediately. You can use the following measures to eliminate loops:

    • Physical connection errors may cause loops. Onsite engineers need to check the network and remove redundant network cables or fibers. You can also eliminate loops through configuration when locating the fault on the live network. For example, you can shut down an interface or remove an interface from the VLAN where loops occur.
Exercise caution to prevent service interruptions when you shut down an interface.
    • Other features may cause loops. For example, an exception occurs in ring network protocols such as STP and Smart Link. As a result, loops cannot be eliminated correctly. You need to rectify faults of other features.

Check whether the loop persists after performing the preceding operations.

    • If the loop persists, go to 3.
    • If the loop is eliminated, go to 4.

  3. Collect the following information and contact technical support personnel.

    • Results of the preceding troubleshooting procedure
    • Configuration file, logs, and alarms of the device

  4. End.
