IFPDT/4/INVALIDSUBVE

Message

IFPDT/4/INVALIDSUBVE:The interface is not bound to a ve-group, and service functions configured on its subinterfaces may become unavailable. (Interface=[STRING])

Description

The VE interface is not bound to a VE group, and services configured on its sub-interfaces may become unavailable.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

Interface

Indicates the interface name.

Possible Causes

The user starts the device using an incorrect configuration file. In this file, the VE interface is not bound to a VE group, and sub-interfaces are created on this VE interface.

Typically, you must run the ve-group ve-group-id { l2-terminate | l3-access } command on a VE interface to bind it to a VE group before creating sub-interfaces on it. If such an incorrect configuration file is used for configuration restoration, sub-interfaces may be created successfully on a VE interface. After configuration restoration, this log is triggered when the device checks the configuration and finds that sub-interfaces have been created on a VE interface not bound to a VE group.

Procedure

  1. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
  2. Run the undo interface virtual-ethernet interface-number.subinterface-number command to delete invalid VE sub-interfaces.
  3. Run the interface virtual-ethernet interface-number command to enter the VE interface view.
  4. Run the ve-group ve-group-id { l2-terminate | l3-access } command to configure the VE interface as an L2VE or L3VE sub-interface based on service needs and bind the VE interface to a VE group.
  5. Run the quit command to return to the system view.
  6. Run the interface virtual-ethernet interface-number.subinterface-number command to create VE sub-interfaces.
  7. Deploy services on the VE sub-interfaces again.
