assign port-speed 100GE

Function

The assign port-speed 100GE command changes the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces to 100 Gbit/s.

The undo assign port-speed 100GE command restores the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces to 40 Gbit/s.

On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02352FSG) and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02352FSF), the default rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 40 Gbit/s.

On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02353GFC), S6730S-H, and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02353FWL), by default, the license has been loaded, and the rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 100 Gbit/s.

Only the S6730-H and S6730S-H supports this command.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02352FSG) and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02352FSF), the default rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 40 Gbit/s. To use QSPF28 interfaces as 100GE interfaces, contact the equipment supplier to apply for and purchase a license. After activating the license, run the assign port-speed 100GE command to change the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces to 100 Gbit/s. To change the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces from 100 Gbit/s to 40 Gbit/s, run the undo assign port-speed 100GE command. This command configuration takes effect only after the device is restarted.

On the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02353GFC), S6730S-H and S6730-H48X6C (part number: 02353FWL), by default, the license has been loaded, and the rate of QSPF28 interfaces is 100 Gbit/s. To change the rate of QSPF28 interfaces from 100 Gbit/s to 40 Gbit/s, run the undo assign port-speed 100GE command and restart the device.

Precautions

  • The corresponding license is required before this command is run.
  • You can run the display device port-speed configuration command to check the current rate of an interface and the rate that takes effect after a device restart.
  • After the device restarts, the original interface configuration may be lost. Therefore, back up the configuration before the restart. After the restart, check the configuration and modify it if necessary.
  • After this command is executed, the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces is the configured rate if you restore the factory settings with one click.
  • After the license expires, the maximum rate of QSPF28 interfaces is the default rate if you restore the factory settings with one click.

Example

# Change the maximum rate of all 40GE interfaces on the switch to 100 Gbit/s.
