Configuring One-way Frame Delay Measurement

Context

  • To measure the one-way frame delay at a time or a specific number of times, use the on-demand mode.

  • To measure the one-way frame delay periodically, use the proactive mode.

Procedure

  • Configure on-demand one-way frame delay measurement.

    1. Perform the following operations on the MEP and RMEP.
      1. Run system-view

        The system view is displayed.

      2. Run cfm md md-name

        The MD view is displayed.

      3. Run ma ma-name

        The MA view is displayed.

      4. Run map vlan vlan-id

The MA is bound to a VLAN.

      5. Run mep mep-id mep-id interface interface-type interface-number { inward | outward }

        An MEP is configured.

      6. Run remote-mep mep-id mep-id

The remote MEP ID is configured.

      7. Run mep ccm-send enable

The CCM transmission function is enabled.

      8. Run remote-mep ccm-receive [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

The CCM reception function is enabled.

      9. (Optional) Run delay-measure one-way threshold threshold-value

The alarm threshold for one-way frame delay measurement is set.

    2. On the receiver RMEP, run delay-measure one-way receive mep mep-id

The RMEP is enabled to receive DM messages.

By default, the RMEP is not enabled to receive DM frames.

    3. On the initiator MEP, run delay-measure one-way send mep mep-id { mac mac-address | remote-mep mep-id } interval { 1000 | 10000 } count count-value

On-demand one-way frame delay measurement is configured.

By default, on-demand one-way frame delay measurement is not configured in an MA.

VLAN-specific one-way frame delay measurement is implemented based on an RMEP ID or destination MAC address:
      • If the local MEP has not learnt the MAC address of the RMEP, specify the RMEP destination MAC address before implementing one-way frame delay measurement.

      • If the local MEP has learnt the MAC address of the RMEP, specify the RMEP ID before implementing one-way frame delay measurement.

  • Configure one-way frame delay measurement.

    1. Perform the following operations on the MEP and RMEP.
      1. Run system-view

        The system view is displayed.

      2. Run cfm md md-name

        The MD view is displayed.

      3. Run ma ma-name

        The MA view is displayed.

      4. Run map vlan vlan-id

The MA is bound to a VLAN.

      5. Run mep mep-id

        An MEP is configured.

      6. Run remote-mep mep-id mep-id

The remote MEP ID is configured.

      7. Run mep ccm-send enable

The CCM transmission function is enabled.

      8. Run remote-mep ccm-receive [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

The CCM reception function is enabled.

      9. (Optional) Run delay-measure one-way threshold threshold-value

The alarm threshold for one-way frame delay measurement is set.

    2. On the receiver RMEP, run delay-measure one-way continual receive mep mep-id

The RMEP is enabled to receive DM messages.

By default, the RMEP enabled with proactive one-way frame delay measurement in an MA is not configured to receive DM frames.

    3. On the initiator MEP, run delay-measure one-way continual send mep mep-id { mac mac-address | remote-mep mep-id } interval 1000

Proactive one-way frame delay measurement is configured.

By default, proactive one-way frame delay measurement is not configured in an MA.
