Disabling a Device from Packetizing ARP Miss Messages

Context

If a device receives an IP packet containing an irresolvable destination IP address, the device generates ARP Miss messages. By default, the device packetizes ARP Miss messages and sends them to the CPU, improving the efficiency of processing ARP Miss messages. When the device is enabled to packetize ARP Miss messages, the device cannot send ICMP Host Unreachable packets or ICMP Redirect packets. To enable the device to send ICMP Host Unreachable packets or ICMP Redirect packets, disable the packetizing function on ARP Miss messages.

Only the S5720-HI, S5730-HI, S5731-H, S5731-S, S5731S-H, S5731S-S, S5732-H, S6720-HI, S6730-H, S6730S-H, S6730-S, and S6730S-S support this function.
