(Optional) Applying a Time Range to the Device in Dormancy State

Context

On an enterprise network, a device does not work at certain time. You can apply a time range to the device in dormancy state. When dormancy conditions are met, the device automatically enters the dormancy state during the time range. This saves power.

If no time range is applied to the device, the device detects the status of all awakening ports all round the clock. The device enters the dormancy state when the device does not detect any awakening port in Up state within the default 20 minutes.

When the device is in dormancy mode, if a user logs in to the computer from an awakening port, the device immediately detects the awakening port in Up state. Then the device is awakened and starts to work.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run time-range time-name { start-time to end-time days | from time1 date1 [ to time2 date2 ] }

    A time range is specified.

  3. Run sleep time-range timerange-name

    A time range is applied to the device in dormancy state.

    By default, no time range is applied to the device.
