Master/Standby Switchover
A master/standby switchover occurs in a stack when the master switch
restarts or when a user runs the switchover command. Figure 1 illustrates how the roles
of member switches change after a master/standby switchover.
- The previous standby switch becomes the new master switch.
- The new master switch selects a standby switch.
- The previous master switch restarts and then rejoins the stack as a slave switch.
