MLD snooping proxy enables the switch to send Query messages to user hosts in place of the upstream Layer 3 device, and to send MLD Report/Done messages to the Layer 3 device in place of user hosts. This function conserves bandwidth between the upstream device and switch.

MLD snooping proxy is enabled.
If an IPv6 Layer 3 multicast function (such as MLD or IPv6 PIM) is enabled on the VLANIF interface, MLD snooping proxy cannot be enabled in the corresponding VLAN.
MLD querier and MLD message suppression can be enabled in the same VLAN to implement the MLD snooping proxy function. After you configure MLD snooping proxy in a VLAN, do not configure MLD snooping querier or MLD message suppression in the VLAN. For details about the configuration of MLD snooping querier and MLD message suppression, see (Optional) Configuring the MLD Snooping Querier and (Optional) Suppressing Report and Done Messages.
If multicast VLAN replication is configured on the switch, MLD snooping proxy cannot be enabled in user VLANs.
