Licensing Requirements and Limitations for Y.1731

Involved Network Elements

Other network elements are required to support Y.1731 functions.

Licensing Requirements

Y.1731 is a basic feature of a switch and is not under license control.

Feature Support in V200R019C10

All models of S2720, S5700, and S6700 series switches support Y.1731.

For details about software mappings, visit Hardware Query Tool and search for the desired product model.

Feature Limitations

  • The following functions are supported only when CFM is configured to work in standard mode: AIS, one-way frame delay measurement, two-way frame delay measurement, single-ended frame loss measurement, and dual-ended frame loss measurement.
  • The S5700-SI does not support proactive one-way or two-way frame delay measurement.
  • In versions earlier than V200R013C00, the S2720-EI, S2750-EI, S5700-EI, S5700-LI, S5700S-LI, S5710-X-LI, S5720I-SI, S5720-LI, S5735-L, S5735S-L, S5735S-L-M, S5720S-LI, S5720S-SI, S5720-SI, S5735-S, S5735-S-I, and S5735S-S do not trust any packet priorities by default. Before running the packet-priority command to configure the 802.1p priority of 802.1ag packets in an MA, run the trust command to configure the priority to be trusted.
  • If there are high requirements for Y.1731 performance, the S5720-HI, S5730-HI, S5731-H, S5731-S, S5731S-H, S5731S-S, S5732-H, S6720-HI, S6730-H, S6730S-H, S6730-S, and S6730S-S series switches are recommended.
  • If the set service-mode command is run in the system view to configure the switch to work in enhanced mode and the number of Y.1731 sessions based on the test instance reaches the maximum value on the S5732-H, S6720-HI, S6730-H, S6730S-H, S6730-S, and S6730S-S, the configuration may fail to be delivered due to hash conflicts. In this case, delete the configuration that fails to be delivered and use another MEP ID or 8021p to deliver the configuration again.
  • The device supports test instance, single-ended frame loss measurement, dual-ended frame loss measurement, and single-ended synthetic frame loss measurement only when the set service-mode command is run in the system view to set the working mode of cards to enhanced.
  • Single-ended frame loss measurement and dual-ended frame loss measurement cannot be configured together.
  • One- and Two-way frame delay measurement are not supported by a stack.
