Upgrading or Downgrading the License Version

Prerequisites

Target license file or ESN of the target device has been known.

Context

For better software compatibility, the device does not verify the license file. After the device software is upgraded or downgraded, the license file used before the software upgrade or downgrade can be retained. If you want to keep the product version in the license file the same as the device software version after the device software is upgraded or downgraded, you can perform the following operations to facilitate subsequent capacity expansion and services.

Only permanent licenses can be upgraded or downgraded. Temporary and fixed-term licenses cannot be upgraded or downgraded.

Procedure

Log in to the ESDP system at http://app.huawei.com/isdp.
Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > Version Change in the navigation tree to access the Version Change page.
Read through the content in Notice, select I have read and agree to the above, and click Next.
Click Upload to upload the license file to be upgraded or downgraded.

You can search for and download the target license file on the ESDP system through the ESN of the device. The navigation path is Equipment(Node) Management. If the local license file is different from that on the ESDP system, the license file on the ESDP system applies.
Select the current product name or version and the target product name or version.
Select the right product and version to ensure that the product and version are the same as those of the target device. Otherwise, the license file cannot be loaded, and services will be interrupted.

In an upgrade operation, the target version is later than the current version; in a downgrade operation, the target version is earlier than the current version.
Check the information and click Activate License.
You can download the new license file after the version is successfully changed.

You can search for and download the new license file on the Equipment(Node) Management page based on the device ESN.
