Account

Context

Unauthorized users may use the default user name and password to log in to APs, causing security risks. To prevent this problem, use Account menu to change the user name and password used to log in to APs.

The default user name and password of an AP are admin and admin@huawei.com, respectively.

Procedure

  • Modify AP account information.
    1. Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > Account. The Account page is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

    2. Enter the new user name and password in Modify AP Account.
    3. Click Apply.

      The AP user name field then displays the new user name.

  • Restore the default AP account settings.
    1. Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > Account. The Account page is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.
    2. Click Restore Default Settings.
  • Configure a password policy.
    1. Choose Maintenance > AP Maintenance > Account. The Account page is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.
    2. In the Password policy area, set Administrator password policy to ON, as shown in Figure 2.

    3. Set parameters by referring to Table 1.

      Parameter

      Password validity period (days)

      Password validity period.

      Password expiration prompt time (days)

      Number of days in advance users are notified that their passwords are about to expire.

      Number of historical forced passwords Maximum number of historical passwords recorded for each STA.

    4. Click Apply to complete the configuration.
