vm-authen password

Function

The vm-authen password command configures a password for virtual users during RADIUS authentication.

The undo vm-authen password command deletes the password for virtual users during RADIUS authentication.

By default, the password for virtual users during RADIUS authentication is not configured.

Only the S5720-EI supports this command.

Format

vm-authen password cipher password

undo vm-authen password

Parameters

Parameter Description Value

cipher

Displays a password in cipher text.

password

Specifies the password for virtual users during RADIUS authentication.

The value is a case-sensitive string without question marks (?) or spaces. The password contains 1 to 16 characters in plain text or 32 characters in cipher text.

Usage Scenario

You can run the vm-authen password command to configure a password for virtual users during RADIUS authentication.

Precautions

To improve security, change the default password immediately. It is recommended that the new password contains at least two types of lower-case letters, upper-case letters, numerals, and special characters, and contains at least 6 characters.
