Trap Buffer Description

Packets buffered earliest were dropped because the memory usage reached the threshold. (MemoryUsage = [hwRadiusMemoryUsage], MemoryThreshold = [hwRadiusThreshold],CachePackets=[hwRadiusCachePackets])

The device dropped earliest buttered packets when the memory usage of the main control board reached the threshold.

In VS mode, this trap is supported only by the admin VS.

This alarm is supported only on NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Impact on the System

The device releases the earliest user's all packets from the cache queue and caches newly generated accounting packets.

Possible Causes

The memory usage of the main control board reached the configured threshold, and new accounting packets were generated and cached.

Procedure

1. Run the display memory-usage command to check whether the memory usage of the main control board reaches the threshold specified by MemoryThreshold in the alarm information.

If so, go to Step 2.
If not, go to Step 4.

2. Check whether the configured memory usage threshold of the main control board is too low.

If so, run the radius-server accounting cache memory-threshold memory-threshold-value command to reconfigure a proper memory usage alarm threshold for the main control board.
If not, go to Step 3.

3. Run the radius-server accounting cache max-packet-number command to reduce the maximum number of accounting packets that can be cached, and then check whether the memory usage of the main control board recovers.

If so, go to Step 5.
If not, go to Step 4.

4. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
