Impact on the System

Excess MAC address exceeding the alarm threshold cannot be learned.

Possible Causes

The number of MAC addresses learned per slot in the upstream direction reached the alarm threshold.

Procedure

1.This trap message is informational only. To clear the alarm, go to Step 2.

2.Run the undo mac-address command in the system view to delete inapplicable MAC entries, or run the mac-limit rule-name maximum command in the system view to configure the maximum number of MAC addresses allowed to be learned if all application requirements are met. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 4.
If the alarm persists, go to Step 3.

3.Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
