Impact on the System

The local clock may be inaccurate.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: A new client was configured and successfully negotiated with the server.

Cause 2: The client that has successfully negotiated with the server is disconnected from the server.

Procedure

1. Check the alarm information to obtain the IP address. Then, run the display ptp-adaptive all command on the device to view the list of clients that negotiate with the server and check whether the IP address exists.

  • If yes, the IP address is newly added, indicating that a new client has been configured. No further action is required. The procedure ends.
  • If not, it indicates that the client is disconnected from the server. In this case, go to Step 2.

2. Check the connection between the client and the server. You can run the ping command to check whether the link is normal.

  • If yes, go to Step 3.
  • If no, rectify the link fault.

3. Run the display current-configuration command to check whether the client configuration changes.

  • If yes, no action is required.
  • If no, go to Step 4.

4. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support.

5. End.
