Impact on the System

On a device with multiple main control boards, if the software package on a single main control board is damaged, system running is not affected.

If the software packages on all the main control boards are damaged, boards may fail to start when they are inserted or restarted.

Possible Causes

The storage medium is faulty, causing a damage to the software package.

Procedure

  • Remove the fault in the storage medium.
  • If only the software package on the slave main control board is damaged and services are not affected, you can run the slave switchover command to perform a master/slave switchover. After the switchover is complete, the original master main control board synchronizes the software package from the new master main control board to repair the damaged software package.
  • If only the software package on the master main control board is damaged, run the reset slot slot-id command to reset the slave main control board. After the reset, the damaged software package is automatically repaired.
