The mpls rsvp-te timer soft-preemption command sets the value of the soft preemption timer.
The undo mpls rsvp-te timer soft-preemption command restores the default soft preemption timer value.
By default, the value of the soft preemption timer is 30s.
Usage Scenario
After an LSP is soft preempt, the RSVP module reclaims bandwidth reserved for the link, starts a soft preemption timer, and sends a PathErr message to instruct the ingress to re-route the LSP. After the soft preemption timer expires, the node sends PathTear messages to upstream and downstream to tear down the LSP. To set the value of the soft preemption timer, run the mpls rsvp-te timer soft-preemption command.
Prerequisites
RSVP-TE has been enabled using the mpls rsvp-te command.
