The arp-trigger command enables ARP packet trigger on the BAS interface or online user roaming on a BAS interface. ARP packet trigger means that the user can get online by sending an ARP packet.
The undo arp-trigger command disables ARP packet trigger on the BAS interface or online user roaming on a BAS interface.
By default, ARP packet trigger is disabled.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.
Usage Scenario
Before enabling ARP packet-triggered user login on a BAS interface, you must configure the access type as layer2-subscriber. To enable the function, run the arp-trigger command. After this function is enabled, online users can also send ARP packets to trigger an update of their VLAN and interface information during roaming.
Precautions
In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
To ensure that IP addresses are available when users are triggered to go online, you are advised to run the reserved ip-address lease command in the IPv4 address pool view to enable lease-based IP address reservation.<HUAWEI> system-view [~HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/1 [~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1] bas [~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1-bas] access-type layer2-subscriber [*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1-bas] commit [~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1-bas] arp-trigger [~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/1-bas] display bas-interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/1 ......
