car total-packet

Function

The car total-packet command sets a total rate for sending packets to the CPU.

Using the undo car total-packet command deletes all the configured CAR parameters.

By default, the rate at which packets are sent to the CPU is determined by the board capability.

Format

car total-packet { high | middle | low | total-packet-rate }

undo car total-packet

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
high

Sends packets at the high speed to the CPU.

The rate at which packets are sent to the CPU is 6000 pps by default.

middle

Sends packets at the medium speed to the CPU.

The rate at which packets are sent to the CPU is 4500 pps by default.

low

Sends packets at the low speed to the CPU.

The rate at which packets are sent to the CPU is 3000 pps by default.

total-packet-rate

Specifies the rate for sending packets to the CPU.

The value is an integer that ranges from 2000 to 50000.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When the actual total rate for sending packets to the CPU exceeds the set threshold, packets are discarded. This prevents the CPU from being overloaded.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

If the actual total rate for sending packets to the CPU exceeds the configured total rate, subsequent packets will be discarded.
