dhcp ip-ttl

Function

The dhcp ip-ttl command sets the TTL value of packets forwarded from the client.

The undo dhcp ip-ttl command restores the default TTL value of packets forwarded from the client to 16.

The default TTL value is 16.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

dhcp ip-ttl ttl-value

undo dhcp ip-ttl

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
ttl-value

In the BRAS relay scenario, set the TTL value of client packets to be forwarded, that is, the value of the Time to Live field in the IP header.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 255.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

In the BRAS relay scenario, you can set a TTL value of client packets to be forwarded as required using the dhcp ip-ttl command. DHCP packets can be forwarded based on the TTL value configured in the BAS view. By default, the TTL value is 16.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
