dhcpv6-server keep-option

Function

The dhcpv6-server keep-option command enables the BRAS to transparently transmit a specified option in response packets from DHCPv6 servers to clients in DHCPv6 relay scenarios.

The undo dhcpv6-server keep-option command restores the default configuration.

By default, the BRAS discards options in response packets from DHCPv6 servers to clients in DHCPv6 relay scenarios.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Currently, the value can only be 17.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

In DHCPv6 relay scenarios, the BRAS discards options carried in response packets sent from DHCPv6 servers to clients. To allow clients to receive a specified option, run the dhcpv6-server keep-option command to enable the BRAS to transparently transmit the option in response packets from DHCPv6 servers to clients.

Configuration Impact

After the dhcpv6-server keep-option command is run, the BRAS transparently transmits only the specified option. Other options are discarded.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

Example
