The dhcpv6 relay option-insert interface-id ignore-nas-logic command enables a device to insert the actual interface information into the Option 18 attribute encapsulated in the cn-telecom format or insert the actual hostname and interface information into the Option 18 attribute encapsulated in the TR-101 format of a message to be sent to a DHCPv6 server.
The undo dhcpv6 relay option-insert interface-id ignore-nas-logic command restores the default configuration.
By default, a BRAS in the BAS relay scenario inserts the logical interface information into the Option 18 attribute or inserts the logical hostname and interface information into the Option 18 attribute of a Relay-forward message to be sent to a DHCPv6 server.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.
Usage Scenario
In BAS relay scenarios where addresses are assigned from a remote IPv6 address pool, if the nas logic-port command or nas logic-sysname command or both commands are run and the dhcpv6 relay option-insert interface-id mode { cn-telecom | tr-101 } command is run on an interface, the BRAS inserts the configured logical interface information into the Option 18 attribute encapsulated in the cn-telecom format or inserts the configured logical hostname and interface information into the Option 18 attribute encapsulated in the TR101 format of a Relay-forward message to be sent to a DHCPv6 server.
However, a device running an earlier version encapsulates the actual hostname and interface information into the Option 18 attribute. To ensure that the content of the Option 18 attribute sent by the current device is the same as that sent by a device running an earlier version, you need to run this command.Precautions
In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
