Usage Scenario

When monitoring the status of a WAN interface or locating the fault of a WAN interface, run the display wan interface command to view information about the WAN interface.

Example

The actual command output varies according to the device. The command output here is only an example.

Table 1 Description of the display wan interface command output
Item Description
current state

Physical status of the interface.

  • UP.
  • DOWN.
  • Administratively Down: The administrator has run the shutdown command on the interface.
Line protocol current state

Link protocol status of the interface:

  • UP: The link protocol is enabled and works normally.
  • DOWN: The link protocol does not work properly or no IP address is assigned to the interface.
Physical layer is

Information about the link at the physical layer. The physical layer of the WAN GE interface is Packet over SDH.

SDH OverHead

Information about SDH overhead bytes.

SDH alarm

sdh alarm.

Scramble

Scrambling is disabled or enabled.

WAN full-duplex mode

The working mode is full-duplex.

WAN Alarm

wan alarm.

Pause Flowcontrol

Whether pause frames are used to perform flow control.

section layer

Regenerator section. B1 represents the number of error packets after parity check is inserted among bits. The parity check checks the bit errors during the STM-N frame transmission.

line layer

Multiplex section information. B2 represents the bytes of BIP-N x 24 bits, which is used to monitor the bit errors during each STM-1 frame transmission in the bit interleaved parity check. REI (Remote Error Indication) represents the indication of a remote error.

path layer

Path information. B3 byte monitors the bit errors of VC4 in STM-N frames. The monitoring principle is similar to B1 and B2. The difference is that B3 performs the BIP-8 check for VC4 frames.

Last 300 seconds input rate Last 300 seconds output rate

Rate of the received and sent bytes and packets within last 300 seconds.

Undersized Frame

Number of packets whose frame length is smaller than the lower limit and can be normally transmitted.

Transceiver max BW

transceiver max bw.

Rx

Value of various overhead bytes when the interface acts as the receiver.

Tx

Value of various overhead bytes when the interface acts as the transmitter.

Clock

Master or slave clock mode.

CRC-32

32-bit CRC is used.

Loopback

The loopback mode is internal, external, or disabled.

Input

Number of all received packets and bytes.

Output

Number of all sent packets and bytes.

Unicast

Number of sent or received unicast packets.

Multicast

Number of sent or received multicast packets.

Broadcast

Number of sent or received broadcast packets.

JumboOctets

Number of sent or received jumbo frames (greater than 1518 bytes).

CRC

Number of packets that are normal in length but fail the CRC check.

Symbol

Number of packets that are normal in length but have data receiving failures or incorrect data symbols at the physical layer.

Overrun

Number of packets that fail to be processed because the interface receives packets at a speed higher than the forwarding speed.

InRangeLength

Number of packets in which the value of the length/type field is reasonable but inconsistent with the actual packet length and in which the value of the length/type field is smaller than the minimum frame length.

LongPacket

Number of packets whose frame length is greater than 9618 bytes and can be normally transmitted.

Jabber

Number of packets whose frame length is greater than 9618 bytes and have CRC errors.

Fragment

Number of packets whose frame length is smaller than the lower limit and have CRC errors.

RxPause

Number of received pause frames.

TxPause

Value of various overhead bytes when the interface acts as the transmitter.

WaveLength

WaveLength.

sdh error

sdh error.

System

system.
