eap username

Function

The eap username command configures a user name and password for EAP authentication in an 802.1X supplicant template.

The undo eap username command deletes a user name and password for EAP authentication in an 802.1X supplicant template.

By default, no user name or password is configured for an 802.1X supplicant template.

Format

eap username username-string password cipher password-string

undo eap username username-string

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
username-string

Specifies a user name for 802.1X authentication.

The value is a string of 1 to 64 characters.

password

Specifies the password for EAP authentication.

cipher password-string

Specifies a password for 802.1X authentication.

The value is a string of case-sensitive characters, spaces and question marks not supported. A simple password is a string of 1 to 16 characters, whereas a ciphertext password is a string of 48 characters.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When a device that functions as an 802.1X supplicant performs 802.1X authentication, you need to run the eap username command to specify a user name and password for EAP authentication in the 802.1X supplicant template.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

Example

# Configure the user name as huawei and password as huawei_123 for the 802.1X supplicant template 1.
