encapsulation (sub-interface view)

Function

The encapsulation dot1q-termination command configures a sub-interface's encapsulation type as dot1q termination.

The undo encapsulation command deletes the dot1q termination encapsulation configured for a sub-interface.

By default, no encapsulation type is configured for a sub-interface.

Format

encapsulation dot1q-termination [ rt-protocol ]

encapsulation qinq-termination [ local-switch | rt-protocol ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
rt-protocol

Indicates a limitation on tags in single-tagged or double-tagged packets when a routing protocol is configured for a termination sub-interface.If rt-protocol is configured and the dot1q termination vid command is used, the sub-interface terminates single-tagged packets, and the tags must be specific VLAN IDs, not VLAN ranges.

local-switch

Indicates that the sub-interface for QinQ VLAN tag termination supports local switching.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To configure a sub-interface as a dot1q VLAN tag termination sub-interface using the dot1q termination vid command, first run the encapsulation dot1q-termination command to configure the sub-interface's encapsulation type as dot1q termination.

Precautions

This command does not support the L2VE subinterface.
