Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

An explicit path is used in either of the following situations during traffic planning:

  • A tunnel connecting links with light loads is established, preventing network congestion.
  • A tunnel using available nodes that are not prone to attacks is established, improving tunnel security.

Prerequisites

MPLS TE has been enabled globally in the MPLS view.

Precautions

Nodes on an explicit path must have different IP addresses.

If an explicit path is in use, do not run the undo explicit-path command to delete the explicit path.

Example

# Create an explicit path named path1.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[*HUAWEI] explicit-path path1
[*HUAWEI-explicit-path-path1] quit
