flexe enable port

Function

The flexe enable port command switches an interface from standard Ethernet mode to flexible Ethernet mode.

The undo flexe enable port command switches an interface from flexible Ethernet mode to standard Ethernet mode.

By default, an interface is in standard Ethernet mode.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F2A.

Format

flexe enable port port-position

undo flexe enable port port-position

Parameters

Parameter Description Value

Specifies the port location of a subcard.

The value is a string of 1 to 31 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

A standard Ethernet interface's bandwidth is fixed, but a flexible Ethernet interface's bandwidth can be flexibly specified. To switch an interface from standard Ethernet mode to flexible Ethernet mode, run the flexe enable port command.

Configuration Impact

After flexe enable port port-position command is run, the physical interface with this command configuration is deleted, and the services configured on the interface are also deleted. If the physical interface is an Eth-Trunk member interface, the physical interface is deleted from the Eth-Trunk after this command is run on the physical interface.

Precautions

This command is supported only on the admin VS.

Eth-Trunk interfaces cannot be switched to the flexible Ethernet mode.
