jumboframe

Function

The jumboframe command sets the maximum frame length allowable for an Ethernet interface.

The undo jumboframe command restores the default value.

By default, the maximum frame size allowed by an Ethernet interface is the default jumbo frame size, in bytes. The default jumbo frame size varies according to subcards. You can run the display this include-default command in the interface view to view the default jumbo frame size.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

An Ethernet interface processes frames only with a certain range. If the length of frames sent by the peer interface exceeds the maximum frame length allowable on the local interface, the local interface drops the frames beyond the allowable range. To set the maximum frame length allowable for an Ethernet interface, run the jumboframe command.

Precautions

If the jumbo frame command has been run for multiple times in the same interface view, only the latest configuration takes effect.

Example

# Set the maximum length of frames allowed to pass through GigabitEthernet0/1/0 to 1520 bytes.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet0/1/0
[~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/0] jumboframe 1520
