Function

The mask slot command masks hardware alarms about a specified board or card.

The undo mask slot command unmasks hardware alarms about a specified board or card.

By default, hardware alarms are not masked.

Format

mask slot slotid [ card cardid ]

undo mask slot slotid [ card cardid ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
card cardid

Specifies the number of the card about which hardware alarms are masked.

The value is a string of 1 to 30 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported.

slot slotid

Specifies the slot number of the board about which hardware alarms are masked.

The value is a string of 1 to 30 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If you want to mask hardware alarms on a board or card, you can run the mask slot command. This command is applicable to the following scenarios:

  • A customer requires to temporarily mask hardware alarms about a specified board or card.
  • The system performance is degraded due to frequently reported hardware alarms about a specified board or card.

Configuration Impact

After the mask slot slotid command is run, all alarms about cards on the specified board will be masked.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.

Masking hardware alarms about boards or cards is not recommended.
