multicast bas-policy out interface gigabitethernet

Function

The multicast bas-policy out interface gigabitethernet command specifies a multicast bandwidth limit policy and sets bandwidth limits in an AAA domain.

The undo multicast bas-policy out interface gigabitethernet command deletes a multicast bandwidth limit policy and bandwidth limits in an AAA domain.

By default, no multicast bandwidth limit policy or bandwidth limits are configured in an AAA domain.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

multicast bas-policy policy-name out bandwidth traffic-rate level-1 level-1-traffic-rate interface gigabitethernet

undo multicast bas-policy policy-name out [ bandwidth traffic-rate level-1 level-1-traffic-rate ] interface gigabitethernet

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
policy-name

Specifies the name of a multicast bandwidth limit policy.

The value is a string of 1 to 15 case-sensitive characters. Digits, letters, and underscores (_) are supported, but spaces are not.

bandwidth traffic-rate

Specifies the total maximum bandwidth on an interface.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 1048576, in kbit/s.

level-1 level-1-traffic-rate

Specifies the maximum level-1 bandwidth available to each user in a specified AAA domain.

The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 1048576, in kbit/s.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To specify a multicast bandwidth limit policy and set bandwidth limits in a specific AAA domain, run the multicast bas-policy out bandwidth level-1 interface command in the AAA domain view.

If the consumed level-1 bandwidth is A1 and the consumed level-2 bandwidth is A2, the device calculates the remaining level-1 bandwidth B1 and remaining level 2 bandwidth B2 when receiving a new service request from a user:

  • B1 = Maximum level-1 bandwidth - A1
  • B2 = Maximum level-2 bandwidth - A2

If the user's remaining bandwidth B1 or B2 (determined by the level of bandwidth that the user is configured to consume) is sufficient, the device permits the service request; otherwise, the device denies the service request.

Prerequisites

A multicast bandwidth limit policy has been configured.

Precautions

  • If the maximum number of multicast programs allowed is also specified in an AAA domain view, the device denies a new service request when either the maximum number of multicast programs or the bandwidth limit is exceeded.
  • An AAA domain allows you to specify only one multicast bandwidth limit policy.
  • The command configuration is effective only for users on GE interfaces.
  • The command configuration is effective only for new access requests of users.
