nas-serial

Function

The nas-serial command configures the serial number of the AC, which is also called AC name.

The undo nas-serial command deletes the AC serial number.

By default, no serial number is configured.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

nas-serial nas-serial-id

undo nas-serial

Specifies the AC serial number. The value is a string of 1 to 31 characters.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

when conducting mandatory web authentication, the device redirects the packet and hides its own IP address. Therefore, the device serial number can be set to replace the IP address. Usually the carrier formulates and configures the serial number on the device.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
