nat alarm user port-number threshold

Function

The nat alarm user port-number threshold command sets an alarm threshold for the user-based port number limit.

The undo nat alarm user port-number threshold command restores the default configuration.

By default, the alarm threshold of the user-based port number limit is 80%.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

nat alarm user port-number threshold threshold

undo nat alarm user port-number threshold [ threshold ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
threshold

Sets an alarm threshold for user-based port usage. Alarm threshold = Alarm threshold for user-based port usage/100.

The value is an integer ranging from 60 to 100.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To monitor user-based port usage on a NAT device, run the nat alarm user port-number threshold command to set an alarm threshold for user-based port usage to enable the NAT device to generate an alarm if the threshold is reached.

Configuration Impact

After you run the nat alarm address-group port-number threshold command to configure an alarm threshold, an alarm is reported when the port usage of a NAT address pool reaches the threshold. This alarm is cleared when the port usage of the NAT address pool falls below 7/8 of the threshold.

Precautions

  • This command can only be used with the static source tracing algorithm in the on-board NAT scenario.
  • The command nat alarm port-number user enable needs to be configured first.
  • The number of user-specific pre-allocated ports is equal to the number of ports configured in the port-rangeport-range command run in the NAT instance view. Usage of user-specific ports is equal to the number of user-specific ports in use divided by the number of user-specific pre-allocated ports. The nat alarm user port-number threshold command takes effect only after the port-rangeport-range command is run in the NAT instance view. If usage of user-specific ports in use is greater than the alarm threshold threshold-value (80% by default) for user-specific port usage, an alarm indicating that usage of user-specific ports in use exceeds the threshold is generated.

Example

# Set the alarm threshold for the user-based port number limit to 85% in the view of a NAT instance named cpe1.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] nat instance cpe1 id 1
[*HUAWEI-nat-instance-cpe1] nat alarm user port-number threshold 85
