Function

The optical-mode command sets the optical module to the optical signal-to-noise ratio mode or high-sensitivity mode.

The undo optical-mode command restores the default setting.

By default, the optical module works in auto-sensing mode. The value of the item in the electronic label of the optical module determines whether to take effect as osnr or hsen.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F2A.

Format

optical-mode { osnr | hsen }

undo optical-mode [ osnr | hsen ]

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To switch the optical module mode, run the optical-mode command to set the optical module mode for a subcard.

Precautions

  • This command will change the optical mode, causing service interruptions. Please exercise caution when running this command.
  • You can run the display optical-module base information interface command to view the current effective mode.

Example

# Set the optical module mode of 400GE 0/1/0 to high-sensitivity.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] interface 400GE 0/1/0
[~HUAWEI-400GE0/1/0] optical-mode hsen
This command will change the optical mode, causing service interruptions. Please exercise caution when running this command. Continue?[Y/N]:y
