The pbb binding b-evpn command binds an I-VSI to a B-EVPN instance.
The undo pbb binding b-evpn command unbinds an I-VSI from a B-EVPN instance.
By default, an I-VSI is not bound to any B-EVPN instance.
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
evpn-name |
Specifies the name of a B-EVPN instance. |
The value is a string of 1 to 31 case-sensitive characters, spaces not supported. In addition, the VPN instance name must not be _public_. When double quotation marks are used around the string, spaces are allowed in the string. |
Usage Scenario
During the migration of an HVPLS network to a PBB EVPN network, HVPLS and PBB EVPN will coexist for some time. To switch service traffic from the HVPLS network to the PBB EVPN network, you have to configure the VSIs on SPEs to work in B-EVPN interworking mode and run the pbb binding b-evpn command to bind I-VSIs to B-EVPN instances.
Prerequisites
VSIs have been configured to work in B-EVPN interworking mode using the vsi i-vsi b-evpn-interworking command.
Configuration Impact
If you want to change the B-EVPN instance to which an I-VSI is bound, run the undo pbb binding b-evpn command to unbind the I-VSI from this B-EVPN instance and then run the pbb binding b-evpn command to bind the I-VSI to a new B-EVPN instance.
Precautions
The pbb binding b-evpn command can only be configured in an I-VSI.
