Usage Scenario
When the symbol-error alarm is generated and the associated port is physically Down, the alarm cannot be automatically cleared. You need to clear the alarm manually. That is, run the port-alarm clear bip8-sd command to clear the alarm and restore the updown status of the port. This command does not save configurations and does not need to be restored.
Prerequisites
Run the port-alarm down (interface view) or port-alarm down (system view) command to enable the function of associating an error alarm with a physical interface Down event.
Precautions
This command takes effect only when the corresponding alarm function is enabled. You can run the snmp-agent trap enable port command to enable the function to generate alarms for symbol errors on an interface.
