The region-name command configures a Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) region name.
The undo region-name command restores the default name.
By default, the MST region name is the MAC address of the management network interface on an main control board.
Usage Scenario
MSTP divides a switching network into multiple regions, each of which has independent Multiple Spanning Trees. Each spanning tree is called a Multiple Spanning Tree instance (MSTI) and each region is called an MST region.
Two devices belong to the same MST region only when their following configurations are the same:
