ptp domain

Function

The ptp domain command specifies the domain in which a device resides.

The undo ptp domain command restores the default domain.

By default, a 1588v2 device resides in domain 0.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

A PTP network is large scale and allows multiple carriers to lease the PTP network as a bearer network. To transparently transmit PTP packets for specific carriers, the PTP network can be logically divided into clock domains. Each clock domain has a single clock source, and all devices in the domain synchronize clock signals with the clock source.

Precautions

This command is supported only by the admin AS.

The method of configuring a domain varies according to the device mode.

  • On the OC, BC, TC, TCOC, and T-BC, a domain can be configured only in the system view, not in the interface view.
  • After a domain is configured in the system view on the TCandBC, the BC interface uses the domain configured in the system view, and the TC interface needs to be configured with a domain in the interface view.

The GPS 3.0 module does not support this command.

Example

# Specify domain 4.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] ptp domain 4
# Specify the domain for a TCandBC.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] ptp device-type tcandbc
[*HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/0
[~HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/0] ptp port-type tc
[*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/0] ptp domain 1
